Sine Mora is a somewhat Darius-y horizontal shooter from Digital Reality in Hungary, and Grasshopper Manufacture in Japan. I naturalized the script, which was originally written in Hungarian by the creative director. I really like the idea of a script with Hungarian voice acting, and they got some of the top actors from the region to play each part. If that doesn’t make it into the final game I will scream.
The toughest part of this project was trying to naturalize an over-100-year-old poem by Endre Ady, Hungary’s most famous poet. Yikes! The game is quite good from what I’ve played, and Digital Reality’s tech is really nice. Hopefully the dang thing will come out soon.
The game has ship and character designs by famous people from Japan, but I don’t think I’m allowed to say who they are. Astute viewers can probably figure it out using their giant brains.
Amusingly, my naturalization was a proper natural rewrite, but all the other languages have translations of my English text. So if it looks stupid in your language, maybe it’s my fault! How fun is that? Here’s a video!
And here’s another one, showing the normal/insane mode comparisons!
